SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Chester family needs your help finding their dog and they are offering a hefty reward to find her.
“It’s been very hard, they’ve had her since she was a pup,” family friend Jen Luitjens said.
Ivy is an eight-year-old English Bulldog.
She went missing on April 1, but sadly it was no April Fools joke.
“They let Ivy and her buddy, Sully, out; Sully came back, Ivy did not,” Luitjens said.
Ivy’s owners, Jason and Sarah Owan said they couldn’t do the interview for this story, because they would get too emotional.
Within an hour of her disappearance, they had 25 to 30 people come to help search for Ivy.
They looked at their security cameras and have been searching on foot and by vehicle every day since, but still nothing.
“They had a drone come in to do thermal imaging and they even turned the temperature down on that and were advised if she had passed within the last 48 hours they still would have been able to find her on the drone, so it’s like she just up and disappeared,” Luitjens said.
The family believes someone took Ivy.
Now the Owans are offering a $2,500 reward, Fliers announcing the award will be placed around Chester and Madison to try and find her or at least get answers as to what happened to Ivy; good, bad or indifferent.
“They need to know, they are devastated by this and her buddy Sully is also devastated and their five grandkids, they love that dog, they are attached to her,” Luitjens said.
