SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s a reunion in Tuscaloosa. Kalen DeBoer is set to hire Ryan Grubb as his offensive coordinator with Alabama.
Grubb, a native of Kingsley, Iowa, worked on DeBoer’s staff at USF back in the 2000s, and the two have teamed up at several stops in between. They were separated last year in DeBoer’s first year with the Crimson Tide as Grubb served as the Seattle Seahawks’ OC.
Grubb and DeBoer helped lead former Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to a runner-up finish in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2023.
