VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — The USD men’s basketball team dropped a narrow 94-91 affair at home to SDSU on Sunday. Now, the Coyotes have a quick turnaround with matchups against the top two teams in the Summit League coming up this week.
The game against the Jackrabbits started a stretch for the Yotes where they play the top four teams in the Summit League standings in consecutive games. South Dakota saw its nine-point lead against SDSU slip away and nearly came back from a 15-point hole in the final three minutes of the contest.
Now, the Yotes prepare to host first-place St. Thomas on Wednesday before heading to Omaha and NDSU.
“We just got to keep going with it,” USD Head Coach Eric Peterson said. “This stretch is going to be really hard. Maybe we’re wore down a little bit. But I mean, I can’t make excuses for our guys, like, not a game like this.”
The Coyotes are currently in fifth place in the Summit League at 7-5.
