SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – If you’re looking for something to do in between Summit League games or just on our nicer March weekends, multiple local businesses have come together for a shopping event.

Seasoned Style on the corner of 10th Street and Walts Avenue in Sioux Falls is just one of 14 stores customers can check out this month for a March Madness Shop Hop.

“As a retailer, I have noticed that not only have sales been down recently but also just traffic in general has been down,” Christi Petersen, owner of Seasoned Style, said. “So, I was trying to think of some ways to build up some excitement and maybe get some foot traffic. So, I thought of the Shop Hop adventure so that everybody has an experience to do while they’re out shopping.”Participating in the Shop Hop is simple — all you have to do is visit the 14 stores, get the card stamped at each and then bring it back for a chance to win a grand prize. “You don’t have to have a purchase to get the stamp,” Petersen said. “We just really want you to visit all the locations. They’re all around Sioux Falls, some in Hartford, some in Harrisburg.”At Seasoned Style you can find vintage home decor and furniture, but there is a wide range of offerings between all of the participating Shop Hop stores. “There’s some clothing boutiques, some gift boutiques, home decor stores, bakeries. We have a wellness, like a juice bar, so all different types of businesses for you to explore,” Petersen said. AMC Collective along Minnesota Avenue is also on the list.”AMC Collective is a marketplace for artists, makers and crafters to sell their items. So, it’s kind of like a year-round craft show,” Carrie Thompson, owner of AMC Collective, said. Both Petersen and Thompson hope the Shop Hop allows customers to experience something new. “Just find the new little hidden gems. See all the different things that maybe you didn’t know were around and just check out different stores,” Thompson said.

When you get a punch card all filled out, you can return it to any of the participating stores to be entered into the drawing for the grand prize, which Petersen says includes something from each of the 14 stores.
