SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Customers at CPR Cell Phone Repair come in for data transfers, quick fixes, and sometimes, a new or used cell phone.
Charles Tebben came in to get a replacement phone. But before he stopped here, he says he visited multiple other phone stores.
“They’re like four times more than here. They’re, you know anywhere between $700 to $1000. Considering when I bought my cell phone, I mean, I think I paid $80 for it,” said Charles Tebben, a customer at CPR Cell Phone Repair.

“There has been a little bit of feedback on, you know, a surprise on our pricing as, you know, better than some of the other competition,” said Jill Solberg, the owner of CPR Cell Phone Repair.
That element of surprise is thanks to a portion of the cell phone parts being from the U.S.
“So far we have not seen any effects on the tariffs at all. I’m hoping we never will. But obviously, you know, it could be a very good chance we will. We have a vendor here in the U.S. that we get all of our parts from. Being a franchise, we are mandated to buy our parts from this vendor,” said Solberg.
But because not all of their products are U.S.-made, Solberg says they’re stocking up.
“You know, obviously, I’m just hoping that this will all get worked out in the future. And by the time that these tariffs possibly would hit, we’ll have it worked out,” said Solberg.
