SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Families may want to hop to downtown Sioux Falls this weekend.

Easter egg hunters will fill up their baskets in downtown Sioux Falls Saturday.

The annual Downtown Sioux Falls Easter Egg Hunt includes more than 20 stops where families can pick up treats.

Child’s Play Toys will hand out eggs with candy inside.

“I can’t wait for it. It’s always such a fun day,” Child’s Play Toys Owner Nancy Savage said.

Savage says her business is preparing for even more visitors than last year.

“Last year I believe we had 600 eggs and we were like out and had to scrounge to find more candy. Luckily, we sell candy here and just pulled it off the shelf,” Savage said.

Other businesses like restaurants are getting in on the fun too.

Blarney Stone will also hand out something special for easter egg hunters.

“We are giving out eggs with little treats inside, toys, and candy. We have plenty for all the kids,” Blarney Stone Assistant General Manager Shauna Coop said.

As families enjoy the Easter festivities, downtown businesses may see more foot traffic.

“Getting people down here, the word out,” Coop said.

“It’s such a fun community event and I think it puts downtown top of mind for people who are looking for gifts, so my thought it, ‘Hopefully, they will think of us when they need a gift,’ because it is such a fun, crazy day,” Savage said.

The Downtown Sioux Falls Easter Egg Hunt runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
