SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We are tracking the rain for the month of September.

September is only a week and a half old, but the mostly dry conditions we are experiencing may continue.

This is what the KELOLAND Live Doppler Radar was showing this morning.

Widely scattered showers and storms around 7 a.m. This is a prime example of the 20% to 30% chance for rain you may experience over the next couple of days. Consider yourself lucky to get the rain as many will stay dry.

Here’s a look at the past seven days, not including today. Notice a lot of ‘traces’ on this map as rain has been hard to come by.

And this is a list of a couple of cities in KELOLAND with their official rain amounts.

The only one on the list above a hundredth of an inch is Rapid City with 15-hundredths.It’s early in the month, but so far September’s outlook is holding true with above average temperatures and dry conditions.

And with the dry conditions expected, we also looked at our driest Septembers in Sioux Falls. The top five are less than a half-inch for total precipitation, with the driest being 2-tenths of an inch in 2011. Let’s hope we don’t go down that route.
