SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – A high-risk offender, released from prison on Thursday morning, is back behind bars.

Dillon Harrington was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail at 8:49 a.m. Thursday. He is being held as a “Fugitive of Justice.”

Rhoden to form prison task force

We checked his record in neighboring states and discovered Harrington is wanted for “Obstructing Prosecution or Defense” in Lyon County, Iowa. That case dates back to February of 2021.

Harrington was serving time in prison for drug charges in South Dakota. He is also on the sex offender registry.

On Tuesday, the South Dakota Department of Corrections provided notification to both the public and to law enforcement about the upcoming release of Harrington.
