BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — The SDSU men shot 61% from the field in the second half of Thursday’s game, helping lead to a 98-85 win over Omaha.
The Jackrabbits avenged their loss from January when they suffered an 87-80 setback to the Mavericks.
SDSU and Omaha went back and forth in the early part of the game, before the Jackrabbits found their groove and built a double digit lead.
The Mavericks closed the first half on a 10-0 run. Omaha trailed 45-43 at halftime.
SDSU opened the second half on a small run to add onto the lead and they never looked back. SDSU was 50% from three in the second half, while adding 13 free throws.
Five players scored in double figures for the Jacks.
Oscar Cluff led the way with yet another double-double. He posted 25 points and 15 rebounds. Cluff added six assists as well.
Joe Sayler didn’t score in the first half, but found a way to tally 19 second half points. Owen Larson added 18 points, while Kalen Garry scored a dozen and Damon Wilkinson 10.
SDSU will head down I-29 to play USD on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
