SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man is in the Minnehaha County Jail accused of stalking a woman, robbing her and attempting to force her into his car.

According to court documents, the victim knows the man and believes he followed her from southwest Minnesota to the eastern Sioux Falls business where she works late Monday morning.

The victim told police the man is obsessed with her.

Investigators checked her phone and she’d received about 100 phone calls from a “no caller ID” number in the hours leading up to Monday’s incident.

“He ended up coming up to her and was trying to grab her and get her to go with him in his vehicle, she had yelled for a coworker. The coworker came out and basically helped to keep her from going into the car,” said Officer Sam Clemens.

The affidavit says the man also sent her nearly 200 Facebook messages just a few days earlier.

Police caught up with 21-year-old Luis Diego Wednesday night and made an arrest. He faces several charges, including attempted kidnapping and grand theft.
