SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s been a wet past two months in KELOLAND as many are above average when it comes to precipitation. By the looks of the forecast, the wet weather is here to stay for the rest of the month.

Cloudy skies with periods of rain in KELOLAND today. The heaviest rain has been associated with thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. And while this rain will exit the area for tomorrow, we’re looking at a pattern that will keep the chance for rain around.

This is a quick look at a series of storm systems that will move through the plains over the next week and a half.

Each one will bring showers and thunderstorms to KELOLAND.

This particular model shows widespread rain amounts of at least 2 inches, though it does show an area of three inches and more that covers the James River Valley. This is a forecast that takes us through the rest of the month.

Also, as the storms move through next week, we’ll have to be mindful for the chance of severe weather.

Keep in mind, it won’t rain everyday, so take advantage of the dry days when they’re here.
