SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We have more details on the officer-involved shooting that happened Friday afternoon on the north side of Rapid City.

Officials say the suspect was pointing a gun at people in the apartment and was able to speak to the suspect through a window.
Political friction adds stress to South Dakota election process
“At some point during this altercation, the man pointed a gun through a window at a police officer. The police officer fired at the individual that was holding the gun, pointing it at him. I’m being told one round was fired. That’s that’s the best information I have at this time,” said Don Hendrick, Chief of the Rapid City Police Department.
The suspect later died at the hospital.
This is fourth officer-involved shooting in South Dakota this year.
