O’Gorman, Stevens, BV, Washington win in quarterfinals

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) — The top four seeds all advanced to the semifinals in the Class ‘AA’ girls basketball state tournament with wins on Thursday.

No. 1 O’Gorman rolled past Jefferson 69-42. Sydney Terveen poured in 17 points and dished out six assists while pulling down five rebounds for the Knights.

Rapid City Stevens surged past Spearfish in the fourth quarter for a 53-41 win. Taaliyah Porter recorded 24 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.

Brandon Valley knocked off Pierre 69-36. Four Lynx players reached the 10-point mark, led by Gracie Salter’s 17 points, nine boards and five steals.

Washington picked up a 55-38 victory over Mitchell. Grace Peterson and Dana Harpe tied for the Warrior lead with 11 points apiece.

Friday’s semifinals will see the Knights take on the Raiders and the Lynx battle the Warriors.
