SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Early Tuesday morning, neighbors along north Fairfax Avenue heard several gunshots. Moments later, a 911 call came in saying a person had been shot. Police say the woman was inside her home when she was hit.

“One of the bullets struck her in the arm,” said Sioux Falls Police spokesman Sam Clemens.

Police say the injury was non-life-threatening. The shooting happened in a neighborhood next to Whittier Middle School. Police had reports of different vehicles in the neighborhood at the time of the shooting and are trying to track them down, but at this point, they don’t have any suspects. They don’t know why the shooter was in this neighborhood or what the motive was.

“If people had any information, had heard something, or saw something we’d like them to call police or Crimestoppers,” said Clemens.

This is the second time in a little over a month that a Sioux Falls home has been shot up for no apparent reason. Police are still investigating a Homicide on September 6th. In that case, someone fired off 16 shots into a mobile home just north of Hayward Elementary School. Tanisha Brugier’s body was later discovered in a bedroom. Police determined she died from a gunshot that came through the wall.

No arrests have been made and police are still looking for more information on that shooting as well.

Police investigated a shooting on the same block back in June. In that case, the victim was found in the road and was in critical condition.
