“It’s another opportunity to compete for a tournament title here, which I know we’ll be excited about, to get ourselves ready for,” SDSU head coach Aaron Johnston said. “We look forward tomorrow.”
Oral Roberts returns to the title game for the first time since 2010. The Golden Eagles have won the trophy five times, but not since going back-to-back in 2007 and 2008.
“They really withstood the test this season. We’ve had some close games and some big wins and I think that just set us up for opportunity that we’re going to have tomorrow,” Oral Roberts head coach Kelsi Musick said. “We’re extremely blessed to be able to play on championship Sunday.”
