HURON, SD (KELO) — It’s Farmers Union Day at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron. 4-H Exhibits open at the state fairgrounds at 9 a.m., carnival rides at 10 a.m., a classic car show begins at 11 a.m., DAV bingo noon, a Miss South Dakota State Fair Scholarship Pageant at 2 p.m., a kids stick horse competition at 5 p.m., and a performance by Riley Green with John Morgan in the grandstand at 8 p.m. The state fair runs through Monday.

You’re invited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Wells Fargo Cinedome & Sweetman Planetarium at the Washington Pavilion. There will be $1 off the regular ticket price for showings of Zodiac Skies, Wings Over Water, Cities of the Future and Magic Globe. There will also be a special showing of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Guests can also enjoy $1 off scoops of ice cream at the Parlour.

Levitt at the Falls in downtown Sioux Falls features headline act The Sensational Barnes Brothers. The free music starts at 7 p.m. with opening act Reuben Rodriguez Syndicate.

This is the final weekend the City of Sioux Falls outdoor pools are open for the year. Kuehn Pool, Laurel Oak Family Aquatic Center, Pioneer Spray Park and the Hayward Park Splash Pad are open from 1-8 p.m.

It’s also the last weekend to enjoy the water slides, wave pool and lazy river at Wild Water West water park west of Sioux Falls. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Sunday. Labor Day hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It’s Fall Festival time at Country Apple Orchard in Harrisburg. Activities include picking your own apples, a petting zoo, apple cannon range, a zip line and corn maze. Today’s hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $14.95. Free for kids under three feet tall. The Fall Festival runs every weekend through October.

‘The island is a mess;’ cleaning up at McCook Lake

Farmers Market season in KELOLAND includes the Falls Park Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Brandon Farmers Market goes from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 925 North Splitrock Boulevard. The farmers markets are held each Saturday through October.

The Heartland County Corn Maze, east of Harrisburg on Highway 11, is open for its 25th season. The 11-acre maze is open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday’s hours are noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $9, $6 for children and free for ages 4 and under.

Learn about the incredible journey that monarch butterflies take every fall during a Monarch Migration event at Hartford Beach State Park on Big Stone Lake in Roberts County, SD. It takes place at the park’s pollinator plot from 3-4 p.m. A park entrance license is required.

Movies playing at the historic State Theater in Sioux Falls include All the President’s Men, rated PG, King Richard, rated PG-13 and The Vourdalak, (NR).

New movie releases playing in a theater near you include Reagan and Afraid, both rated PG-13 and The Crow, rated R.

The Bob Burns Dakota Bowl features Harrisburg taking on O’Gorman at McEneaney Field in Sioux Falls. Tailgating begins at 1 p.m. The Kids Zone is open from 1-3 p.m. The Knights Way Parade is at 6:15 p.m. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on KELOXTRA and on KELOLAND.com.

The Canaries baseball team takes on the Kansas City Monarchs. First pitch at Sioux Falls Stadium is 5:35 p.m.

Huset’s Speedway in Brandon is hosting the High Bank Nationals featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Gates open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. The races start at 7:30 p.m.

All Elite Wrestling is bringing their action-packed televised Collision tour to Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls. The action starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets at the KELOLAND Box Office start at $20.
