BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — Entering this weekend, the SDSU women’s basketball team won its last three games by an average of more than 30 points a game. However, on Saturday, the Jackrabbits needed to pull a win out down the stretch in the fourth quarter.

The Jacks led North Dakota by just five points with less than five minutes to play in regulation. From that point, State scored 13 of the game’s final 17 points on its way to an 87-73 victory over the Fighting Hawks.

The team acknowledged that the need to execute in the final minutes will pay dividends moving forward.

“It will help us down the road,” SDSU junior forward Brooklyn Meyer said. “I think we’re always working on trying to put together our most complete game of basketball and our best 40 minutes together. Not every game is going to be perfect, and I feel like we have to learn how to deal with the highs and lows.”

Meyer scored 30 points in the contest to lead the Jacks offensively.
