SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Summit League) – The 2024 Summit League Women’s Championship bracket was revealed by league officials on Sunday afternoon with North Dakota State earning the No. 1 seed after clinching the regular season title following a 2-1 victory over St. Thomas Sunday.
The Bison won the program’s third Summit League regular season title and first since going back-to-back in 2015 and 2016. NDSU also became the first team in league history to earn the top seed at the postseason event after not making it the previous season.
The Bison finished with 19 points and a 6-1-1 record after tallying seven points and tying for seventh with a 1-3-4 league mark a season ago. Denver will be the No. 2 seed after securing 17 points (5-1-2) thanks to a 2-0 victory at South Dakota. The Pioneers had won at least a share of the previous six regular season titles.
NDSU earned a first-round bye along with DU and will host both semifinal matches on Thursday, Nov. 7 the final on Sunday, Nov. 10 at Dacotah Field in Fargo. NDSU will be hosting the tournament for the third time.
The six-team, single-elimination tournament will also feature two quarterfinal matches next weekend, which will be hosted by No. 3 seed and reigning tournament champion South Dakota State and No. 4 seed Omaha. All five matches will be streamed on the Summit League Network.
The Jackrabbits and Mavericks both won their final regular season matches to earn the right to host a quarterfinal match.
SDSU defeated Oral Roberts 1-0 and will play No. 6 seed South Dakota next Friday at 6 p.m. CT at Fishback Soccer Stadium in Brookings. Those two teams played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 11 in Brookings. The Jackrabbits finished with 16 points and 5-2-1 record.
Omaha finished with 15 points and a 4-1-3 record after posting a 2-1 road win at Kansas City. The Mavericks will host No. 5 seed Oral Roberts Saturday at Caniglia Field. The Golden Eagles, who played Omaha to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 20, were fifth on the table with 12 points and 3-2-3 Summit ledger.
The Coyotes, who were the No. 5 seed a season ago, secured the final spot with seven points and a 1-3-4 record.
The winner of the title match on Sunday, Nov. 10 will be crowned the 2024 Summit League women’s soccer champion and earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. For complete information on this year’s championship, visit The Summit League Women’s Soccer Championship page.
