SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – A newer shop in the Jones421 Building is bringing unique items and experiences to Downtown Sioux Falls.

Unique board games, crystals, teas and tinctures are all things you can find at Sanctuary Goods.

“In my logo, the last word is ‘curiosities’ and that’s the best way I can describe my shop. It is just full of curiosities,” Stefan Bernardino said. “It’s full of things that you really aren’t going to find anywhere else in this town.”

Large police presence on West 12th Street

Stefan Bernardino and Michelle Tarian opened this storefront inside the Jones421 Building in December.

“Just being in the Downtown area just right here and there’s so much foot traffic so you meet people from all over the world, all over the states and it’s constant motion,” Tarian said. “So, it’s been a fun adventure so far just being in this spot.”

It’s not just a retail space, though– there’s also a workshop area where Tyler Nordlund creates his wire-wrapped jewelry.

“The Jones Building is just filled with so many creative minds and such good energy that I’ll come down here and do my art. And he offers to sell it out of the shop for me,” Nordlund said.

Bernardino and Tarian are excited to see where that energy takes Sanctuary Goods and this building.

“I’m really happy to be a part of this project. And now that every spot is filled up, I really think the Jones Seed Building is going to take off, especially with the Levitt and Sioux Steel right there. I mean, it’s kind of a no-brainer, in my opinion,” Bernardino said.

Recently, they’ve hosted wire-wrapping jewelry workshops at Sanctuary Goods and they hope to do more experiences like that in the future.
