SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It was a special day at Great Bear Ski Valley.

This afternoon, the park held an adaptive skiing event for people with disabilities, and with the help of some special equipment and a guide, skiers of all abilities could hit the slopes.

“This is one of the best days for the winter that individuals like myself who need adaptive equipment and adaptive help, it brightens the day and it makes your whole winter worth coming out for just a couple of hours in the fun,” said Bib Uecker.

The event was in partnership with the Sioux Falls VA Health System.
