SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Snow is on the way for areas of KELOLAND, with the heaviest snow expected in northern South Dakota. While I’ve already added to my Aberdeen number earlier this week, I’ll do it again this weekend.

That’s when a system will bring snow to KELOLAND. First starting in western and northern South Dakota late Friday and then sliding to the southeast Friday night into Saturday.
Exact placement of snow amounts need to be worked out, but parts of northern KELOLAND may exceed 3 inches. It will add to the little snowfall we’ve had so far this season.
Here’s where I stand with my snowfall prediction. I predicted below-average snowfall for Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, and Pierre– and so far so good.
Rapid City is over a foot of snow this season with 9 inches of that falling last month.
We’ll have more chances for snow as we go through February, which for many will end up being the snowiest month so far this season.
