Io is Jupiter’s third-largest moon and is the most volcanically active body in the solar system. NASA believes lo has hundreds of volcanoes and the most recent discovery was made by Juno spacecraft. Io is slightly larger than Earth’s moon. Scientists believe its thin atmosphere is composed mostly of sulfur dioxide.
