Troopers find 250lbs of Marijuana in traffic stop

SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested one person after locating over 250 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in northern Nebraska.

On Friday, March 7, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a trooper performed a traffic stop on Highway 20 on a Chevrolet Silverado with a driver known to have a suspended license. The traffic stop occurred near the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 81. During the traffic stop, the trooper saw marijuana in plain view in the pickup.

A search of the vehicle revealed several bags of marijuana in the cab and bed of the pickup. The total weight of the marijuana was 252 pounds.

The driver, Coty Weber, 40, of Saint Peter, Minnesota, was arrested for driving under suspension, possession of marijuana – more than one pound, and possession with intent to deliver. He was lodged in Pierce County Jail.
