SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Sioux Falls has two new restaurants for people to check out. Dahila Kitchen and Bar, as well as Big Sioux Burger, opened in the Steel District.

Complete with velvet booths and over 225 types of tequila, Dahlia Kitchen and Bar is ready to serve Mexican food lovers in Sioux Falls.

“Our homemade empanadas are going to be out of this world,” Executive Chef Andrew Ernst said. “We make them from hand, scratch, every day. You’ll be able to taste the love that’s put into them. Also, all of our meats coming off the spits, off our rotisserie right here in the background as you can see, those are going to be just succulent and delicious.”

Across the hall is a spot for more casual diners at Big Sioux Burger.

County commissioners upset at accusations of treason

“We’re grinding all the meat in-house for all the patties and everything else like that,” Ernst said. “We’re sourcing local buns from Minneapolis. We also bread all of our appetizers to order.”

This space will also have karaoke nights.

“I think we start karaoke this week this Thursday night,” Chef and Owner Josh Thoma said. “So if you want to stop by, do a little late-night karaoke, that’ll be going on this week Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night at Big Sioux Burger.”

Two different concepts in one building that the staff is excited for people to check out.

“Boy, it’s been five years. So we are really excited,” Thoma said. “We partnered with Lloyd in 2019 on the project. So, to see it all come to fruition has been really great for us.”

Big Sioux Burger is a walk-in-only restaurant. Dahlia does walk-ins and reservations. They will begin their normal hours Wednesday with Big Sioux Burger opening at 7 a.m. and Dahlia opening at 11 a.m.

A third restaurant will be opening at the Steel District later this month. Ironwood will be a two-story steakhouse and it’s set to open on October 29th.
