SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — There’s a chance more moisture could be coming to areas of KELOLAND.
Meteorologist Adam Rutt shows us what it takes to get thunderstorms this weekend.
Aside from a scattered shower here and there, mostly dry skies can be expected through Saturday as temperatures remain above average.

The mostly dry skies and windy conditions for the next several days will continue to dry things up. The next chance we have at more substantial rain will be on Sunday with a chance at scattered storms. But the timing has to be worked out, here’s our setup so far.
Thanks to southerly winds Friday and Saturday, moisture will slowly become available. You can see how we eventually get moisture to stream in from the south.
A cold front from the west will supply the lift in the atmosphere to help create scattered storms. The timing of the front still needs to be worked out, I wouldn’t be surprised if it slows. But for now, the best chance at scattered storms may be during the morning hours.
Once the front passes, strong northerly winds will eventually bring in much cooler air for Monday. I’ve said it before, take whatever moisture you can get as it looks to be mostly dry over the next several weeks.
