Woman dead following crash near Canton

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Harrisburg woman died in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Canton.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was headed north on 480th Avenue when it entered the intersection at 276th Street and collided with a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.

The crash sent both cars into the northwest ditch, where the Suburban rolled onto its driver’s side.

A passenger in the Suburban was ejected during the crash and died from her injuries. The driver of the Suburban received minor injuries, and the driver of the Malibu suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The seatbelt status of the deceased is under investigation. Names have not been released pending family members’ notification.
